This is the 12th edition in the SAtrancefamily 'Special Guest Set' series

The 28yr old Finnish Producer, Neo Kekkonen, developed his passionate interest for making music in the early 2000's, and after years of experimenting, discovered his natural preference leaned toward uplifting trance

His tracks and remixes have been heard in clubs around the world and aired on Armin van Buuren's 'A State of Trance' radio show, amongst others

Today, Neo produces and remixes for several labels (most recently signed to Subtraxx Recordings)

Neo recently worked on two very successful collab' productions with of one of South Africa's rising Producer stars, Dirkie Coetzee

This very talented artist is certainly one to keep a keen eye on!

This is the first release in the SAtrancefamily 'Epic Trance' series

'Epic Trance' was established in Dec 2011 with the intention to become THE platform for showcasing the finest up & coming DJ'ing talent Southern Africa has to offer!

The competition will be run every 3 months, winners get an opportunity to play at an official gig, mix an SAtrancefamily 'Epic Trance' Episode and take away some other goodies. This is the 9th edition in the SAtrancefamily 'Special Guest Set' series
 
Pierre Pienaar or P.H.A.T.T. as he is professionally known, hails from Windhoek, Namibia and has become quite a prominent and respected DJ/Producer, synonymous with productions of the highest professional standard.
 
With a number of original releases and remixes to his name it's no surprise that the 27yr old has been signed to labels like Universal, EMI, Sony/BMG, Be yourself Music, Nukleuz, Tidy, Monster Tunes, Waterworld, Planet Traxx and Dave Joy’s Phoenix Recordings over the last few years.
 
This is certainly one Southern African Producer to keep a close eye on as he rises to the highest heights in Trance.

Sourcee, or Rômulo Medeiros as known to friends and family, is pioneering Trance in Brazil - With a total of 20 productions in 2011 and having signed with 6 respected labels, this 24yr old has made a quick and big impact on international Trance 

After hearing his remix of 'Dirkie Coetzee & Unique DJ ft Litsa - C'est La Vie' and his production 'Tick Tock', also with South African vocalist 'Litsa', we had to get in touch with this up and coming DJ/Producer to find out more about him 

Sourcee has been supported by the likes of Richard Durand, James Grant, Jaytech, Ruben de Ronde, Markus Schulz, Myon & Shane54 and Andy Moor via their podcasts & radio shows

Total Abstraction

After a month of entries from INCREDIBLY talented DJs around South Africa we have finally scored the 20 minute mini-mixes received and we have a winner! 

But first we need to thank each participant for taking the time & effort to put something special together for this SAtrancefamily 'Epic Trance' competition. 

We want to stress that just because you may not have won it certainly doesn't mean you're not a good DJ with great potential, considering how close the final scores were we expect to be seeing and hearing more from each of you that entered, and we hope you'll be entering again in our future 'Epic Trance' competitions. 

So, without further ado we're very excited and proud to announce Tim Lai and Aadil Mayat 'Total Abstraction' as the winners, CONGRATULATIONS guys!

Anton Nathrass

This is the 7th edition in the SAtrancefamily 'Special Guest Set' series. 

To our South African followers Anton needs no introduction, but for those of you all over the world, this is a little bit about him; 

Anton started his career in DJing straight out of high school in 1998 and launched the country's first online vinyl store. From 1999 to 2010 he held residencies for 9 clubs & events organisers including E.S.P and Origin. He has DJ'ed alongside the likes of Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, Cosmic Gate, The Thrillseekers, Kyau & Albert and 4 Strings, to name a few. 

His regular Podcast entitled 'Digital Enlightenment' is arguably the finest South African produced show.

George Le Rouge

This is the 6th edition in the SAtrancefamily 'Special Guest Set' series 

The 20yr old Giorgio Rindonone (George le Rouge) is a very talented & passionate DJ/Producer hailing from Rome, Italy. At the young age of 16 he started experimenting with Dj'ing and a year later he begun fulfilling his desire to create his own productions. 

George was very quickly signed to Subtraxx Recordings after his talent was discovered by the label and he has released 7 tracks and worked on numerous Remix projects too, one of which recently of an all South African production 'Dirkie Coetzee & Unique DJ ft. Litsa - C'est La Vie'. 

This set also marks George's inaugural Episode of his new Podcast 'The Hand of Trance'

Dirkie CoetzeeThis is the 5th edition in the SAtrancefamily 'Special Guest Set' series. 

Dirkie Coetzee started his career in EDM as a bedroom DJ back in 1999 at the tender age of 16. After spending a few years honing his mixing skills at night club events and on radio shows around Southern Africa, he decided to pursue his interest in producing. 

With no formal training in music theory or any kind of music production in general, Dirkie learned the art of producing by scouring online for any articles & tutorials he could find. After years of trial & error he refined his skills as a producer to create the magical sounds you hear in his music today.
